Space Environment Utilization

Utilizing the unique environment of space, the research objective is to build and develop new scientific fields and areas. The basic sciences include: material science aiming at elucidation of phenomena that are difficult to measure on the ground, and at creation of new materials; life science to clarify the influence of space environment on life, its generation and evolution; and fluid science closely related to material science and life science. In addition to experiments in space, ground facilities such as microgravity simulator and centrifuge are employed. We also use the numeric-process technique to visualize various phenomena.
