On December 21, 2015, ISAS/JAXA conducted a key test firing of M-35, the second motor of the Second Epsilon Launch Vehicle, to evaluate its performance and to confirm the validity of its design. During the 120-second duration M-35 test firing, ISAS/JAXA characterized the rocket engine's combustion performance. The success made another step forward in development of launch capability of the second Epsilon.
The second Epsilon Launch Vehicle will carry the ERG (Exploration of energization and Radiation in Geospace) satellite to space.
