The day side image of Venus taken by the Akatsuki's IR2 (InfraRed 2 micrometer) camera on May 7, 2016 at 01:07 JST and the Akatsuki's altitude was 81 000 km at that time. Data with this wavelength enables researchers to investigate the hight of a cloud by using light absorption of CO2 that is the main component of Venusian atmosphere. The image was processed for presentation purpose.
