Logging trees to secure the antenna skyline #1

The antenna of Misasa Deep Space Station has an operating range of 7 degrees or more due to mechanical restrictions. Since it is necessary to secure as much communication time as possible with spacecrafts, we have decided to cut down the surrounding trees from the east to the west, where they are often visible from the antenna.

However, since topographical obstacles such as mountains cannot be removed, it is an operational restriction.

We have obtained permission from CHUBU Regional Forest Office for logging trees.

Logging work is undertaken by Sue Rinsan Ltd., and it is scheduled to be completed by the end of November.
