Antenna Assembly Construction (EL Rotatable Structure) #4

The center section and ring truss were installed. The center section is supported from the Az rotatable structure via the EL spindle and bearing. The ring truss is supported by it. The ring truss itself supports the main reflector.

Antenna Assembly Construction (EL Rotatable Structure) #1

We have started assembling the EL (elevation) rotatable structure. It has the role of rotating the antenna in the elevation direction. The photo below shows the EL drive mechanism (motor and reducer) mounted on the Az rotatable structure. The EL drive mechanism consists of 4 sets, and two of them are arranged on the left and right with respect to the center (cylindrical one in the center: the master collimator). The tip of the motor has a gear to match with the EL sector frame (sector gear).
