Antenna Rail Construction
Antenna Rail Construction #4
The construction scheduled for 2017 has also been completed. Thank you for your support this year as well.
The photo below shows the finished state of the antenna rail. Az wheels run on this.
The photo below shows the finished state of the Az shaft at the top of the antenna base chamber. The gear of the Az rotating structure is installed here.

Antenna Rail Construction #3
Antenna rail construction is almost complete.

After finishing the installation adjustment of the antenna rail, the non-shrink mortar is placed between the lower part of the rail and the foundation.

A non-shrink mortar is placed between the base plate of the master collimator inside the antenna foundation chamber and the foundation to complete the process.

Antenna Rail Construction #2
The construction site was also hit by the third snowfall, and this time it was about 10 cm of snow. At the site, the horizontal level of the rail is adjusted in a temperature of 0 °C or less.
The horizontal level of the rail is adjusted by tightening this large nut, but it is difficult to do it manually, so a torque wrench is used hydraulically.
Adjust the rail in units of division, and measure the levelness at two ends and one center with a measuring instrument. Repeat adjustment and measurement until the target accuracy is achieved.
Antenna Rail Construction #1
The installation of the base plate has been completed for each of the antenna rail, Az shaft, and master collimator foundation, and the rail is being placed on the base plate for the antenna rail. In the future, we will adjust the position of the rail and assemble the formwork to fill the non-shrink mortar.

Anzen-kigan-sai (a ceremony performed to pray for safety)
At the start of the antenna rail construction, Anzen-kigan-sai was held by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation. On the day of the event, in addition to Mitsubishi Electric officials and the JAXA project team, we invited people from Saku City related organizations who are supporting and cooperating in development and maintenance, and the total number of attendees was less than 50.
