はやぶさの運用に関して、5月27日03:38（日本時間）にTCM-2が正常に
終了されたことを確認しました。

これの運用により、はやぶさは地球外縁部へ精密誘導され、はやぶさと
地球との距離は約760万kmとなりました。

なお、探査機の状態は、良好です。

Hayabusa currently undergoes the correction maneuver (TCM-2), which will conclude 5 m/sec velocity increment and terminate around 03:30 JST on May 27th.

TCM-2 was designed to accomplish the specified velocity increment of 5 m/sec, and started on May 23rd. It was converted around 100 hours operation originally. However, the TCM-2 operation has adopted slightly higher thrust than planned to stabilize the propulsion, and will be complete several hours earlier than expected.

現在、TCM-2運用中ですが、5月27日午前3時30分頃に、予定していた速度
変化量（5m/秒）を達成し、同時刻に終了する予定です。


＊「推力×運転時間÷探査機の質量=５ｍ/秒」になるように運用している。
　　高い推力が維持されているため、運転時間が短くなる。

Hayabusa successfully photographed its home Earth and Moon on May 12th last week, by using the CCD sensor on the Star Tracker instrument aboard.

The Earth was seen so brightly that the image contained strong smear in it, but the image clearly separates the Moon from the Earth. (Magnitude of the Earth is -8.3, and that of Moon is -4.6.)

The Earth was seen between Sagittarius and Capricornus.
Hayabusa will continue to voyage back to Earth at the speed of 18 thousand kilometer per hour.

「はやぶさ」は、先週 5月12日に、搭載の星姿勢計（STar Tracker: STT）のCCDセンサを用いて、故郷である地球と月の撮影を行いました。

地球はまばゆいばかりに明るく、画像は強いスミアの影響を受けましたが、月もくっきりと写っています。（地球 -8.3等、月 -4.6等）

地球は、現在いて座とやぎ座の間に見えています。

今年は帰還の年ですので、はやぶさ君が相模原市にあるJAXA相模原キャンパス（宇宙研）の入り口の並木道を帰ってくる様子をデザインにいたしました。はやぶさ君はここで生まれ、運用されてきたのです。
右上の灰色の部分が運用室や管制室のある建物ですよ。
右上のロケットは、はやぶさ君を打ち上げたロケットの先輩、M-3SIIの模型なの。ハレー彗星を観測した、さきがけ、すいせいは、これに乗ってお出かけしたのよ。
このロケットのお向かいには、はやぶさ君の乗ったM-Vロケットの燃焼試験後の実物が置いてあるんだけれど、木のかげになっちゃっているわね。

今年の5月9日で、はやぶさ君は7歳になります。お誕生日なので、おやつも、ろうそくもありますよ。
今年のおやつは特大のプリンです。この絵ではプリンに変えてしまっておりますが、実物は銀閣寺の向月台をイメージしたものだと聞いております。ぜひ、相模原にいらっしゃって、お確かめくださいな。

ろうそくの代わりに立っているのが、かつらの並木、７本です。
中央にある桜の木は数に入れませんよ。バナナをおやつに入れないのと同じようにね。

はやぶさ君の打ち上げのときの絵や、はやぶさ君が小惑星イトカワを観察していたときの絵も描き加えました。
もちろん、はやぶさ君をずーっと見守ってきた、うすださんもね。ミネルバちゃんがどこに隠れているかは探してみてくださいね。
左上の二つの丸の中は、この一年、はやぶさ君がしてたことよ。イオンエンジンを使った軌道変更と、遠日点（軌道上で太陽から最も遠くなる位置）で、寒かったこと。今年も一年、お疲れ様でした。

このカードは、はやぶさ君が1歳の誕生日を迎えたとき、2004年の5月9日から毎年送っているものですよ。
最初の頃は、5/8に描いて、当日に運用室のホワイトボードに貼っていたのですが、最近はウェブにアップするため、早めに描くことになり、締め切りにアップアップしています。

JAXA confirmed that TCM-1 operation was successfully completed.
By this operation, Hayabusa spacecraft was guided to the outer rim
of the Earth and the distance between Hayabusa spacecraft and the Earth
resulted in around 16,600,000km far. The Hayabusa spacecraft system
is going well.

5/4　11:57（日本時間）TCM-1が正常に終了されたことを確認しました。
これの運用により、はやぶさは地球外縁部へ誘導され、はやぶさと地球
との距離は約1660万kmとなりました。なお、衛星の状態は良好です。

We started TCM-1 at 20:00 JST today.

JAXA would like to announce that TCM-1 operation has commenced. It will take around 64 hours for ion engine to accelerate. Hayabusa condition is going well.

5月1日 20:00（日本時間）TCM-1を開始しました。イオンエンジン噴射加速に
約64時間を予定しています。なお、探査機の状態は健全です。

5月1日19:00（JST)より開始予定であったTCM-1(※)の実施時刻を20:00へ
変更します。

イオンエンジンの推力をより安定化するため、昨日の計画よりイオンエンジンの
推力を高くして運転することとしました。
また、臼田局からの可視のタイミングを最適化する目的で、TCM-1の開始時刻を
20:00へ変更することにしました。

※ TCM : Trajectory Correction Maneuver (軌道補正マヌーバ)

JAXA would like to change TCM-1 scheduled 19:00 to 20:00 (JST).

JAXA decides to operate the ion engine with higher thrust than the planed so that we may make it more stable. In addition, the commencement of the operation will be postponed 1 hour to meet the visibilities of Usuda station.

○展示物情報
・JAXA相模原キャンパスは、全国の研究施設でも珍しい「セキュリティエリア内にある展示施設」です。本物のロケット（一部のみ模型）や実際の開発試験に使用した様々な模型が間近でご覧になれます。
「はやぶさ」実物大モデルだけじゃありませんよ！

また研究者も通常通り出入りしていますので、ある意味、旭山動物園よろしく研究員の生態の「行動展示」となっております。疲れた研究者を見かけたら「頑張れ」って言ってください。

・(NEW!!)金星探査機「あかつき」に搭載されたメッセージプレートのフライトモデル同等品を本日(5/1)から展示室に飾ります。全89枚のうちの72枚を見ることができます。

・M-Vロケット（本物、一部代替部品アリ）、M-3S-IIロケット（実物大）
宇宙研近代の衛星や探査機を打ち上げた、いわば時代を作ったロケット達が原寸大でご覧になれます。
特にM-Vは燃焼試験で使った実物(!)なので、風向きさえよければまだ2段目のノズル付近から燃えた推薬の臭いがします。

・各種衛星やロケット、気球の模型を多数展示
ディスプレイ用に作られた綺麗な模型もありますが、多くは実際の試験で用いられた現物を展示しています。
一際目立つ「はやぶさ」の探査機本体部分も実は熱構造試験モデルです。

・始まりのロケット「ペンシル」：原寸大のレプリカを展示してあります。世界でも希有な「兵器の遺伝子を持たないロケット」を間近でご覧下さい。


○施設情報
・見学は無料です。見学可能時間は通常通り、9:45〜17:30です。守衛所で受け付けしてご入場ください（氏名と住所を記入するのみです）。

・トイレは所内にあります（エレベーターホール横）。多目的トイレもありますが、おむつ替えスペースや授乳スペースがありません。ご容赦ください。

・見学可能エリア外は立ち入り禁止となっております。立ち入り禁止エリアについては守衛所で説明がありますし、その場に立て看板も置いてあります。ご協力をお願い致します。

・所内は禁煙です。またペットの持ち込みもご遠慮頂いております。ご了承ください。

・GW期間中、食堂・購買部は営業しておりません。自動販売機が所内と購買部の横に設置してありますが、食べ物は数に限りがありますので、近隣のレストランなどをご利用ください。
国道16号線沿いに多数ございます。宇宙研から16号までは徒歩で数分です。
所内での飲食の際は、施設内の休憩室か食堂前のベンチをご利用ください。

・無料の駐車場は若干用意しておりますが、数に限りがありますので満車の際はご容赦ください。

・近隣に相模原市立博物館（常設展やプラネタリウム※）や淵野辺公園（相模原球場、銀河アリーナ）がございます。併せてご利用ください。
※GWはプラネタリウムで子供向けプログラムを上映。「HAYABUSA back to the earth」は残念ながら上映しておりません（GW以外であれば7/16まで上映するようです）。http://www.remus.dti.ne.jp/~sagami/kodomoweek.htm
