We are pleased to announce the call for presentations for the 36th Workshop on JAXA Astrodynamics and Flight Mechanics. This year, we will again hold the workshop in a hybrid style, maintaining online participation while further enhancing the on-site program. Based on the experience and lessons learned from previous years, we will continue our efforts to improve the organization and operation of the workshop.
As a new initiative this year, the workshop will be expanded from the usual two-day format to a three-day program. On the first day, August 3, we are planning a pre-event consisting of graduate-level lectures for those who are new to the field of astrodynamics. The following two days, August 4 and 5, will be held in the usual symposium format. We are also planning a small networking reception after the second day of the symposium. We hope that those who are able to attend will join us on site at JAXA Sagamihara.
The previous workshop was a great success, with 99 presentations and more than 300 participants in total. For this reason, last year we set the presentation time at 25 minutes per presentation. This workshop has traditionally placed great importance on securing sufficient time for both presentations and discussions with the audience. We will maintain this policy this year as well, and the standard presentation time will be 30 minutes per presentation. However, depending on the number of presentations, we may set the presentation time at 25 minutes, as we did last year. We would appreciate your understanding.
As space activities become increasingly advanced, the importance of astrodynamics ― a field that is rooted in applied mechanics and closely related to navigation, guidance, and control, with applications including robotics, formation flying, and lunar and planetary exploration ― continues to grow. We believe it is highly meaningful for people involved in JAXA projects to discuss various research topics with researchers from universities and other research institutions, and to explore the application of theories to practical problems. As members of the astrodynamics community, we would like to secure opportunities to concentrate on purely research-oriented and technical discussions.
Regarding the scope of presentations, we would like to place emphasis on presentations and discussions that address fundamental research and technical issues, even if they may appear modest, rather than those that remain at the level of conceptual studies or general system descriptions. We also warmly welcome presentations on research and technical developments that are still incomplete or in progress. We look forward to the participation of graduate students and young engineers.
Since the 32nd workshop, we have allowed presenters to submit presentation slides for the post-workshop proceedings instead of papers in the conventional format. We hope that this policy will help reduce the burden on presenters, and we encourage many of you to submit presentations. The workshop also accepts presentations on topics that have already been presented or published elsewhere. Although all presenters are, in principle, required to submit post-workshop materials, it is possible to limit the content to be included in the workshop repository due to copyright considerations. This workshop does not require the transfer of copyright from authors. We also strongly encourage international students to apply.
The organizing committee has been holding extensive discussions and implementing various initiatives to make the workshop even better. We will continue our efforts to ensure that this workshop contributes to the development and revitalization of the astrodynamics community. We sincerely appreciate your continued support and encouragement.

The interest of this workshop lies in the astrodynamics as an applied physics, providing a good opportunity for discussing academic research and technical issues on space technology.
The working language is English for International Sessions. |
| Paper Submission |
The English paper for all the presentations will be collected after the symposium. |
