Late Accretion History of the Terrestrial Planets

Late accretion of chondritic material to differentiated planetary bodiesis thought to have been common in the early solar system. However, thetiming and scale of admixing this material to terrestrial planets arepoorly constrained. Here I will present a novel approach to study lateplanetary accretion based on stable isotopes of highly siderophileelements as tracers of the processes space. I will show that this approach canbe used to trace the origin of the highly siderophile of planetarymantles, test whether a planet had recycling of surfacial material inits mantle and evaluate the timing and extent of late accretion.
