 abstract of observational proposal
Main Objective: Co-observations of active region filaments and complex neutral lines with GREGOR, SST, IRIS, LOFAR

Scientific Justification: Active region filaments form along the magnetic neutral line, which separates areas with opposite magnetic fields within active regions. Almost all (94%) earth-directed CMEs are associated with eruptive filaments and 79% of the CMEs are initiated from within an active region (Zhou et al. 2003, A&A 397, 1057). Changes of the 3-D photospheric flow field can be related to activated filaments, which show a distinct upward motion, i.e., a blue-shifted component in Hƒ¿. Thus, understanding formation, evolution, and dynamics of such filaments will reveal mechanisms, which serve as triggers and are thus relevant for space weather forecasts and prediction of CMEs.

 request to SOT
We would like to request continuous IQUV SP rasters of the active region, centered on the neutral line in a fast map mode. The FOV depends on the size of the active region (~100eex164ee). The target should be same as IRIS.

 request to XRT
We would like to get 128x128 thin-Be, highest cadence possible (with thin-Be in pre-flare buffer), high-cadence thin-Be flare response

 request to EIS
Active Region Evolution - General Purpose Raster.
study ID 600, FOV of 248" x 512", Exp. time 60 s, duration ~1h 3m

 other participating instruments
IRIS requests: IRIS time already granted.

GREGOR, SST, LOFAR, IRIS

 remarks
Dates: 15 - 22 May 2023, 27 May - 5 June 2023, 13 - 22 September 2023

Time window: 07:30-10:00 UT (for all the mentioned dates). We have reserved IRIS co-observations for 27 May - 5 June 2023, 13-22 September 2023.

Target(s) of interest: Active regions

Previous HOPs: HOP 0287, HOP 0315

Additional remarks:
With this proposal we would like to coordinated ground based observations with IRIS and Hinode. Additionally, we have applied for LOFAR time.
