 abstract of observational proposal
Main Objective: The science goal is to produce co-temporal (nearly) full-disk composition maps using SPICE and EIS.

Scientific Justification: The full-disk maps provide the opportunity to investigate composition across multiple layers of the sola atmosphere in a variety of features (active regions, quiet Sun, coronal holes) using a range of composition diagnostics.

 request to SOT
None

 request to XRT
We request thin-Be, Al-med and Be-med images to be run once during each EIS raster during the construction of the mosaic. Raster duration is approx. 1 hr 5 min and the mosaic takes ~40 hrs.
The EIS FOV at each position in the mosaic is 498 x 512 therefore we would like to have XRT to cover at least the same FOV. The XRT filters will be used to constrain DEMs for hot/flaring ARs.

 remarks
Dates: Mar 27-29

Time window: ~40 hrs (EIS) starting Mar 27 at 5 UT [end prior to 6 UT on Mar 29] during SPICE mosaic of 48 hr
Refer to coordination page in Additional Instrument Coordination.

Target(s) of interest: 15 spacecraft pointings covering full disk. See HOP 130 for details. The HOP 130 positions are rearranged to ensure a smoother overlap between adjacent positions. David Brooks has software to calculate the pointings/timings so contact him when this version is run.

Additional remarks:
The full Sun scan takes around 40 hours. This coincides roughly with Solar Orbiter/SPICEfs composition mosaic SOOP, with a total run-time of ~48 hours. The pointings of this HOP is designed to be identical to HOP 344 which runs semi- regularly. However, we have updated the EIS study to use one with a more comprehensive line list, bigger step size and longer exposure time.
Inform the IRIS team to see if they can participate with a special coordinated (slow) scan. If not, the EIS scan should be run anyway, again in coordination with the weekly IRIS full Sun mosaic.
