I was born in Kisarazu, Chiba prefecture.
Rice fields everywhere, frogs croaking all the time during summer, and a decent winter sky with a whole bunch of stars.
People call it a typical Japanese countryside, which I really like.
I went to Nakago elementary school and Nakago junior high school.
(The latter is closed now and has been replaced by a local pro football team. I used to work part-time there~.)
The class size was small, with less than 20 students, so we never had a class change. It was a peaceful and calming 9 years spent with old friends.
For high school, (probably I kind of felt bored with a serene life in the country haha) I chose Chiba municipal Chiba high school
Science course, commuting to the city for one and half hour every day. There were no class changes again!
Reflecting back, I was greedy, ambitious, and very young to crave growth. (As of 2022,) that was the most fun and gratifying period in my life.
I miss my classmates, teachers, and the many friends I made then.
Entering Chiba University literally expanded my world.
I was enrolled in Frontier Science Program (Physics).
Recognizing "genius" for the first time, I realized I am not that a smart guy. But at the same time, I started liking my own style of slowly accumulating skills and knowledge as if rejoicing the tastes of them
(like playing RPG or something).
I appreciate Prof. Tomoyuki Hanawa, who taught me the fundamentals of physics with patience to the slow student.
For my research project for my bachelor's degree, I belonged to the Astrophysics lab. and
studied a plasma gas of galaxy clusters (ICM) by using MHD simulation with Prof. Ryoji Matsumoto.
During my 3rd year of college, I studied at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee in the US as an exchange student.
Even though COVID-19 forced me to return earlier than initially planned, the 7 months I spent living by myself outside of my comfort zone has undoubtedly helped me to grow.
Every single person I encounter and became a friend there was super kind! (It even made me feel embarrassed a bit about my past selfish behavior back in Japan.)
In addition to physics and astronomy coursework, I participated in a research project of developing an MCMC fitting algorithm for AGN x-ray light curves.
I'm really grateful to Sarah Vigeland and Tingting Liu for accepting me, a random Asian boy, to the project and always listening to my broken English.
For my postgraduate studies, I decided to major in Astronomy at UTokyo.
My supervisors are Ebisawa-san and Tsujimoto-san and the lab is in
ISAS/JAXA.
This chapter is still ongoing and I will write more once everything settles down.
Thank you for reading such a long story to the end!!
