Department of Space Astronomy and Astrophysics

Department of Space Astronomy and Astrophysics is engaged in observational research of astrohysic research on observatioal instruments and technology for the next generation and the study and launch of new space missions. Observations are conduced over a wide range of wavelengths, including radio submillimeter infrared, X-ray and gammma-rays.Researches are also couducted by using ground-based observations.

Main targets include galaxy clusters, active galactic nuclei, galaxies, stars star-forming regions and protostars, supernova remnants, interstellar matter, exoplanets.
