Len, Peter, Tero:
The EUNIS rocket launch date has been changed by one week to 6 November 2007 (from 30 October).
Our plan is to launch EUNIS on Tuesday 6 November 2007 no earlier than 1649 UT and no later than 1849 UT. The actual observations would therefore begin no earlier than 1651 UT, and end no later than 1858 UT. The backup date would likely be Wednesday 7 November.
Best wishes, Jeff
Folks: When Jeff asked me for the EUNIS launch window on 2007 Oct 30, I had mis-remembered the time of local solar noon (LSN); it is actually 1849 UT for White Sands Missile Range on that date. Atmospheric EUV transmission is maximized for launches between LSN - 2h05m and LSN - 05m. Therefore, we will in fact request to be launched within the interval between 1644 - 1844 UT, not the times given in Jeff's prior email. In any case, the 'official' launch time is influenced by many factors not under our control, and will not be determined until much closer to our launch date. Sorry about the mix-up on our requested times, however. Regards, Rog
