Flare list(LM) : http://www.lmsal.com/solarsoft/last_events/ DR information
daily note Note: XRT will conduct remote operations from MAY 29 through JUN 12. Please use Yugma for the morning operations meetings, and dial in to the telecon phone number (see telephone-number card in Hinode morning-meeting room). To contact the XRT Chief Observer, please call +1-617-496-1156 (US phone number). SOT: -SUNRISE campaign HOP 120 -HOP 71 VTT joint observation XRT: - Support HOP 120 (Sunrise) - Support HOP 71 (VTT) - AR thermal studies - AR dynamics studies When there is a value in [DR allocation]: The above allocation data is the approximate amount of the data which is available for each CO per day when the launch of Sunrise is announced. The actual data will be calculated again just before the evening meeting, so please regard this data amount as a reference. -------------------------------------------------------------- *** SUNRISE *** - David Orozco will contact all COs and the CP and Shimizu-san by phone when Sunrise launch is confirmed. - Every day there will be a normal morning meeting, until the Sunrise launch is announced. On the day the launch is announced, there will be an evening meeting also on that launch day (but Sunday is a special case, handled below). During the evening meeting, we will plan the next-day's upload with the Sunrise pointing included. - From launch day onward, the plan will be as in the X-band days, that is, a one-day upload every day except Saturday, which will have a two-day upload. This will continue until the end of the five-day Sunrise flight. - We expect the Sunrise launch announcement around 14:00 JST on the launch day, and the pointing information for the whole mission will be known by 16:00 JST. [Update! As of 6 June, we now expect the pointing to not be known until *about* 17:00 or 18:00 UT. So afternoon meeting should be at about that time, TBD.] We will nominally plan to have the afternoon meeting at 16:00 JST. Of course it is possible that the schedule may change from this plan. - Outstanding issue: CLOSED. How do we handle notification of launch on Sunday June 7, 21, 28, or July 5? (Arikawa, Sterling, Shimizu.). Launch on Sunday 14 June could *not* be supported by Hinode until 16 June, because of unavailability of uplink passes on 15 June. Sunday-launch-annoucement case: If launch notification comes on Sunday JST: o SCP prepares files needed for OP-upload operations. o CP does nothing before the morning meeting. o Morning meeting on Monday is at 08:30 JST(!). During the meeting, the pointing file is made, assuming Sunrise observations. The plan for Tuesday is not made at this time. o After morning meeting, COs prepare plans. It is estimated that it will take SOT 4-5 hours to plan, and 3-4 hours for the other two instruments to plan. After submission, COs contact CP *via telephone* (NB. Normal ops-page link is *not* available). o After all three instruments have submitted files and notified the CP, the CP will do the normal Monday-morning activities (in CP-speak, the 10 am pre-morning-meeting CP activities). o CP and COs interate the plans until all instruments are OK, as normal. However, if the all-OK will not be reached by approximately 15:00 JST [more exact schedule to be confirmed during the morning meeting], then special considerations are needed (see Special Case 1 below). o After all OKs are received, CP completes the plan submission, etc., as normal. o After all CP and CO activities for Monday are completed, the team will gather again for an evening meeting to make the plan for Tuesday. o During the evening meeting, the Tuesday plan is made; it is a one-day plan, with an extra one day for the backup period. o Special Case 1: If by 15:00 JST [exact time TBD] it is determined that the COs will not not be able to make their plans in time, then: - If SOT can not make their plan in time, then the OP upload for Monday night is abandoned, and the plan uploaded on Saturday will run until Tuesday, as normal. This is independent of whether XRT and EIS can complete their plans on time. - If SOT can finish their plan in time, but EIS and/or XRT can not finish their plan(s), then the instrument(s) without the completed plan will cease observations for Monday, and the OP and observation tables for only SOT and the other OK instrument (if any) will be uploaded. Thus, for one day only, XRT and/or EIS will not observe. COs must keep in mind that it is better to miss one day of observations than to upload a non-safe plan! *** Monday CP (or Shimizu-san) can be reached at one of the following numbers: o EIS Room: +81-42-759-8627. o Shimizu-san Room: +81-42-759-8527 o Hinode B-toh Operation Room: +81-42-759-8398 - On all other days (except Sundays), Hinode will only have its normal morning meeting, at 01:30 UT. - Sunrise web page is: http://www.mps.mpg.de/services/sunrise/sot/sot.php ----------------------------------------------------
