Flare list(LM) : http://www.lmsal.com/solarsoft/last_events/ DR information
daily note * First pass is early today (16:02 JST)! * - David Orozco will contact all COs and CP by phone when Sunrise launch is confirmed. - XRT bakeout canceled if launch notification on 3 June JST, but not canceled if notification is later than that. - Every day there will be a normal morning meeting, until the Sunrise launch is announced. On the day the launch is announced, there will be an evening meeting also on that launch day (but Sunday is a special case, handled below). During the evening meeting, we will plan the next-day's upload with the Sunrise pointing included. - From launch day onward, the plan will be as in the X-band days, that is, a one-day upload every day except Saturday, which will have a two-day upload. This will continue until the end of the five-day Sunrise flight. - Outstanding issue: CLOSED. We will know Sunrise pointing information by 7 UT of launch day (16:00 JST); this is the time we will nominally plan the afternoon meeting. (Orozco.) - Outstanding issue: How do we handle notification of launch on Sunday June 7, 14, 21, 28, or July 5? (Arikawa, Sterling, Shimizu.) Skeleton plan: If launch notification comes on Sunday JST: o SCP prepares files needed for OP-upload operations. o CP does nothing before the morning meeting. o Morning meeting on Monday is at 08:30 JST(!). During the meeting, the pointing file is made, assuming Sunrise observations. The plan for Tuesday is not made at this time. o After morning meeting, COs prepare plans. It is estimated that it will take SOT 4-5 hours to plan, and 3-4 hours for the other two instruments to plan. After submission, COs contact CP *via telephone* (NB. Normal ops-page link is *not* available). o After all three instruments have submitted files and notified the CP, the CP will do the normal Monday-morning activities (in CP-speak, the 10 am pre-morning-meeting CP activities). o CP and COs interate the plans until all instruments are OK, as normal. However, if the all-OK will not be reached by 15:00 JST, then special considerations are needed (see Special Case 1 below). o After all OKs are received, CP completes the plan submission, etc., as normal. o After all CP and CO activities for Monday are completed, the team will gather again for an evening meeting to make the plan for Tuesday. o During the evening meeting, the Tuesday plan is made; it is a one-day plan, with an extra one day for the backup period. o Special Case 1: If by 15:00 JST it is determined that the COs will not not be able to make their plans in time, then: - If SOT can not make their plan in time, then the OP upload for Monday night is abandoned, and the plan uploaded on Saturday will run until Tuesday, as normal. This is independent of whether XRT and EIS can complete their plans on time. - If SOT can finish their plan in time, but EIS and/or XRT can not finish their plan(s), then the instrument(s) without the completed plan will cease observations for Monday, and the OP and observation tables for only SOT and the other OK instrument (if any) will be uploaded. Thus, for one day only, XRT and/or EIS will not observe. COs must keep in mind that it is better to miss one day of observations than to upload a non-safe plan! *** Need numbers for Monday (S)CP **** - On all other days (except Sundays), Hinode will only have its normal morning meeting, at 01:30 UT. - Sunrise web page is: http://www.mps.mpg.de/services/sunrise/sot/sot.php ---------------------------------------------------- SOT: -Sunrise launch window HOP 120 -HOP 71 VTT joint observation - Flat fields done one day for 3.5 hrs. XRT: - Perform CCD bakeout (bakeout heater on in the second pass). Bakeout heater to be turned off by OP 12 hours after heater on (i.e., at around 20:15 UT on 4 June). XRT table upload also requested in the second pass. - Perform quadrant exposures at 4 pointing 6 hours after heater off from around 02:15 UT on 5 June Pointing locations are: (-528.4, -528.4) for SE Quadrant (528.4, -528.4) for SW Quadrant (528.4, 528.4) for NW Quadrant (-528.4, 528.4) for NE Quadrant Stay 10 minutes for each quadrant pointing. -Support HOP 120,71 - Joint flare mode observation after bakeout for 1 hr, on 5 June 3:37 - 4:33 UT orbit. Note: XRT will conduct remote operations from MAY 29 through JUN 12. Please use Yugma for the morning operations meetings, and dial in to the telecon phone number (see telephone-number card in Hinode morning-meeting room). To contact the XRT Chief Observer, please call +1-617-496-1156 (US phone number). EIS: - Large spectral coverage of active region in northern hemisphere (Warren & Mariska): * HPW017 (scanning) and/or HPW019 (sit'n'stare) will be used - Loop morphology & oscillations study (Bewsher & De Moortel): * Several hours' pointing at quiescent AR - High cadence observations of AR transient brightenings and microflares (Mason) * at least 3-4 hours with pointing at neutral line of active region - Support HOP 71 (THMF response) - Support HOP 120 (SUNRISE balloon experiment): details TBD
