Abstract: If one force could be held accountable for the universe, then it should be gravity. Interacting galaxies pull gas into spiral arms, leading to collisions between cold clouds that trigger the collapse of stars and the formation of their planet-forming discs. Computer modelling is a great tool for exploring these events, picking through their evolution from different viewing angles and varying conditions. In this talk, Ifll walk from the large-scale galactic interactions to the small scale of planet atmospheres to give an overview of the projects I have been examining.
