 abstract of observational proposal
Main Objective: Provide supporting observations for the Science Verification of DKIST/ViSP

Scientific Justification: Hinode SOT/SP is the "gold standard" for photospheric polarimetry. Observations from SOT/SP in support of DKIST/ViSP during its Science Verification can be used to compare qualitative and quantitative measures to demonstrate that ViSP is producing high-quality science data.

 request to SOT
Normal maps, approx. 82"x82, repeating as telemetry allows.

 request to XRT
None

 request to EIS
For QS observation: Atlas_30 (EIS study #403)
For AR observation: EL_DHB_01 (EIS study #602)

 other participating instruments
DKIST/ViSP

 remarks
POC: Roberto Casini (casini@ucar.edu)

Dates: TBD, DKIST schedule is in a constant state of flux. Not earlier than late March 2020.

Time window: 18:00 to 24:00 UTC (08:00 - 14:00 Hawaii local time)

Target(s) of interest: Max Millennium target, or disk center in case of no activity

Previous HOPs:
Long-term Hinode SOT team member. I have several publications using SOT/FG and SOT/SP data, including a study of photospheric proxy-magnetometry, polarimetry with BFI, and most recently a study of polarization in the [O I] line with SOT/SP.
