The main aims for this observing campaign are:- (1) to obtain the global, time-averaged temperature and density along active region loops. In this case a context raster taken using the 40" slot and exposure time of 50secs would be employed. Subsequently, the derived plasma profiles will be compared with hydrostatic loop models. (2) to employ a "sit and stare" mode at various locations with an active region to examine possible variations in the temperature and density over short (second) timescales.Although there would be observations only at a single location, we believe that analysis of any variations along with comparison with a hydrodynamic model of loop plasma will yield further information on the time-dependent nature of any heat input.
